Women's Golf Closes Fall Season at Diamante Intercollegiate

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State women's golf team closes out the fall portion of its 2023-24 slate starting Sunday when it travels to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, for the Diamante Intercollegiate - Presented by Simmons Bank and hosted by Little Rock.
Action in three-day, 54-hole event begins at 9:30 a.m. ET / 8:30 a.m. CT each day and will feature split tee starts on the 72-par, 6,054-yard Diamante Country Club course. For Sunday's opening round, the team will be paired with Central Arkansas and Houston Christian and tee off on hole one starting at 10:18 a.m. ET / 9:18 a.m. CT.
In addition to Ball State and tournament host Little Rock, the 18-team field will feature golfers from Arkansas (individuals), Arkansas State, Boston College, Bradley, California Baptist, Central Arkansas, Georgia State, Houston Christian, Memphis, Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton, Texas A&M Commerce, Texas Arlington and Wichita State
Teaming up for Ball State at the meet will be sophomore Jasmine Driscoll, freshman JJ Gregston, sophomore Sarah Gallagher, senior Kiah Parrott and junior Payton Bennett. Also set to compete as an individual is sophomore Madelin Boyd who will tee off on the 10th hole at 10:10 a.m. ET / 9:10 a.m. CT.
As a team, the Cardinals are coming off an eighth-place finish at the Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational (Oct. 9-10) in which Driscoll tied for fifth overall at 226 (+10), including shooting the lowest final-round score of the tournament at 72 (E).
On an individual front, the Cardinals made some noise at the IU East Fall Invitational (Oct. 13-14) with all four of its competitors finishing among the top six in the field of 47.
Freshman Jenna Estravillo won the 36-hole event held at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana, after carding a career-low 71 (+1) in the opening round and finishing at 149 (+9). The effort was the lowest round of the tournament by four strokes over freshman Madelyn Young's first-round 75 (+5). Young would go on to finish second overall at 151 (+11).
54-HOLE RECORDS:
The 2023-24 Ball State women's golf squad etched its named into the program's record book at the 2023 Brittany Kelly Classic (Sept. 18-19, 2023) at The Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Indiana, finishing the two-day event with a program record 54-hole score of 875 … The effort was seven strokes better than the previous mark of 882 set at the 2021 Spring Break Shootout (March 15-16, 2021) at Lake Jovita in Dade City, Florida.
On an individual front, senior Kiah Parrott has BSU's lowest 54-hole of the season with her 215 (74-69-72) at the Brittany Kelly Classic, which is eight shots off her program record mark of 207 (67-68-72) when she won the 2022 Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic (Sept. 19-20, 2022).
Sophomore Jasmine Driscoll was not far behind with her 218 (75-74-69) at the Brittany Kelly Classic, shaving four strokes over her previous career-best score of 222 (76-74-72) set at last season's Falcon Florida Classic (Feb. 6-7, 2023).
36-HOLE RECORDS:
The Cardinals also set a new 36-hole record on the opening day of the 2023 Brittany Kelly Classic (Sept. 18-19, 2023) with a 584, taking one stroke off the previous record of 585 set on the opening day of the 2019 Spring Break Shootout (March 11, 2019).
On an individual front, senior Kiah Parrott turned in a 143 (74-69) on the 36-hole day of the Brittany Kelly Classic, which ties as the ninth-best 36-hole score in the Ball State record book.
2023-24 LOW ROUNDS:
Jasmine Driscoll currently owns the lowest round of the season for the Cardinals, firing a 68 in the final round of the Boilermaker Classic (Sept. 4-5) … It ties as the third-lowest round in program history and is just two strokes off the program-record of 66 set by Jenna Hague at the 2013 Hoosier Fall Invitational.
Driscoll also shot a 69 in the final round of the Brittany Kelly Classic (Sept. 18-19), which ties as the sixth-lowest round in program history … Senior Kiah Parrott also shot a 69 in the second round of the Brittany Kelly Classic, which ties as the third-lowest round of her career … Parrott tallied rounds of 67 (first round) and 68 (second round) in the 2022 Brittany Kelly Classic played at The Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Indiana.
