MUNCIE, Ind. – Thanks to its stellar performance in the classroom during the 2022 fall semester, Ball State cross country was named an U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's All-Academic Team after earning a 3.878 team GPA. Â
BSU's student-athletes put in the work in the classroom to achieve the fourth-highest GPA in all of NCAA Division I Cross Country for the 2022 season. A total of 249 programs were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams with the Cardinals at the top of that list. Â
"We are proud of our young ladies," head coach Adrian Wheatley said. "Earning the fourth-highest spot on the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes. Their commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the course is truly inspiring."Â
The Cardinals' GPA also ranked as the highest in the Mid-American Conference for the 2022 season and as the highest fall semester GPA out of all athletic teams at Ball State.Â
