Brovont Named MAC Men's Diver Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - Ball State freshman Porter Brovont has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Diver of the Week after his career day at the Vigo County Aquatic Center last Saturday.

Brovont placed first on the 1M diving board with a score of 301.30. He saved his best effort for his final of six dives in the event, scoring 57.20 with his forward 2 ½ somersault pike. His overall score of 301.30 was also an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying mark and 10th in program history.

Brovont followed up his first-place performance with a second-place finish in 3M Diving (306.50). His best dive off the 3M board was a forward 2 ½ somersault 1 twist pike which scored 63.00. Both of his scores were career bests.

Brovont, and the rest of the Ball State swimming & diving program, return to action Jan. 21 at noon for a league dual versus Miami at the Lewellen Aquatic Center.
