Cardinals in second at Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, have four in top five

Ball State sits at 5-over after two rounds
MUNCIE, Ind. – After 36 holes of play at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational Friday, the Ball State men's golf team has four inside the top five of the individual leaderboard. In addition, the Cardinals are in second as a team following the first and second rounds at Delaware Country Club.
Joey Ranieri sits in a tie for second overall at 1-under (72-69—143), trailing the leader – Dayton's Jacob Garland – by one stroke heading into Saturday's final round. The senior had a team-best nine birdies, along with 21 pars, Friday.
The trio of Kash Bellar, Griffin Hare and Joey Wiseman are part of a seven-player tie for fifth at 2-over. Bellar (69-73--142) had seven birdies on the day, including five on the front nine.
Hare (70-72--142) and Wiseman (71-71--142) racked up 12 birdies together, eight which also came on the front nine.
Ball State stands at 5-over (565) and trails only Wright State (560) by five strokes.
The Cardinals tee off the final round in pairings with Dayton, Loyola and Wright State for Saturday's final round, beginning off the No. 1 tee box at 10:20 a.m.
