MUNCIE, Ind. - - Midweek #MACtion will take over the Softball Field at First Merchants Ballpark Complex as Ball State welcomes Western Michigan for a three-game series starting Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Â
The Cardinals (15-23; 8-6 Mid-American Conference) and Broncos (16-24; 6-8 MAC) will also play a doubleheader Wednesday starting at 1 p.m.
Â
With five league series remaining, Ball State enters the week tied for fourth in the MAC with an 8-6 conference record. However, the Cardinals are still just outside the four-team MAC Tournament picture as they are tied with Central Michigan who owns the head-to-head tiebreaker with BSU.
Â
Miami (15-2) has a four-game lead over second-place Ohio (11-6), while Bowling Green (8-5) is in third at five games back. The Cardinals and Chippewas are both 5.5 games out of the top spot, with both having played one less MAC series than Miami so far this year.
Â
Western Michigan is currently two games behind Ball State and eighth overall with its 6-8 MAC record.
