Women’s Tennis Captures 4-3 MAC Road Win At Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Ball State women's tennis team (11-2, 2-0 MAC) remained undefeated in Mid-American Conference action after earning a thrilling 4-3 road victory at Buffalo (11-5, 0-2 MAC) Friday afternoon at the Miller Tennis Center.
After losing the doubles point to the Bulls the Cardinals fought back to take four of the six singles courts from Buffalo to claim today's win.
Mariya Polishchuk and Elena Malykh both took down their respective opponents in straight sets to help the Cardinals comeback. Polishchuk defeated Gabriella Akopyan on court No. 3 6-4, 6-1 while Malykh managed to beat A. Karademitrou by the same score at the No. 6 position.
Hannah Davies dropped her first frame at the No. 5 spot to Azra Deniz Comlek 6-3 but battled back to take sets two and three, 6-2, 6-4.
With the match on the line, Amy Kaplan came through by taking a three-set thriller from Ambre Amat at the No. 4 singles position, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to clinch match point for Ball State.
The Ball State women's tennis team will return to Muncie, Ind. for a Mid-American Conference match-up against Toledo on Sunday. The match will more than likely be played indoors at the Northwest YMCA following the Ball State men's tennis match which will begin at noon. The Ball State women's tennis match will start no earlier than 3:30 pm ET.
