October 27, 2022 | Field Hockey
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State field hockey team will close out its 2022 regular season at home on Friday when it welcomes Mid-American Conference rival Miami to the Briner Sports Complex. The game is slated to begin at 1 pm ET.
The RedHawks are the closest MAC school in proximity to the Cardinals. It takes approximately 1 hour and 36 minutes driving time door to door.
The Cardinals (7-9, 4-2 MAC) are looking to get back on the winning track after dropping their last two contests. Prior to that, Ball State was tied for first place in the league standings with a 4-1 record after posting MAC victories against Longwood (3-2), Central Michigan (4-3 2OT), Ohio (2-1 OT) and Bellarmine (2-0).
Currently, Miami (10-6, 5-1 MAC) is on a three-game win streak and sits in first place in the MAC standings.
Overall, Friday's contest will mark the 75th meeting all-time between the Cardinals and the RedHawks, with Miami leading the all-time series 49-25. Ball State will look to snap an 18-game losing streak to the five-time defending MAC regular season champions.
Prior to the contest, the Cardinals will pay tribute to their eight seniors Ally Butler, Gina Caravaglia, Sarah Fondel, Caitlyn Grodzicki, Lexi Kansky, Libby Kraus, Angel Nkosi and Kerrianne McClay.
