
Field Hockey Closes Out Its Regular Season at Home Against MAC Rival Miami

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State field hockey team will close out its 2022 regular season at home on Friday when it welcomes Mid-American Conference rival Miami to the Briner Sports Complex. The game is slated to begin at 1 pm ET.Â

The RedHawks are the closest MAC school in proximity to the Cardinals. It takes approximately 1 hour and 36 minutes driving time door to door.Â

The Cardinals (7-9, 4-2 MAC) are looking to get back on the winning track after dropping their last two contests. Prior to that, Ball State was tied for first place in the league standings with a 4-1 record after posting MAC victories against Longwood (3-2), Central Michigan (4-3 2OT), Ohio (2-1 OT) and Bellarmine (2-0).Â

Currently, Miami (10-6, 5-1 MAC) is on a three-game win streak and sits in first place in the MAC standings.Â

Overall, Friday's contest will mark the 75th meeting all-time between the Cardinals and the RedHawks, with Miami leading the all-time series 49-25. Ball State will look to snap an 18-game losing streak to the five-time defending MAC regular season champions.Â
