Men’s Tennis Competes at ITA Ohio Valley Regional

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Ball State men's tennis team has been competing at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ohio Valley Regionals (ITA) this weekend on the campus on Louisville. Junior Eli Herran and sophomore Nathaniel Webster have each advanced to the semifinals of the consolation bracket.
Both Herran and Webster won four singles matches apiece and have moved on to the semifinal rounds of consolation play after losing in the first round of the main draw.
In today's singles play, Herran registered a come from behind victory over Tennessee State's Jonasz Dziopak. Herran dropped the first set to Dziopak 3-6 before taking frame two by a score of 6-2 and then winning the tiebreaker, 10-8. Herran will take on Memphis' Harry Rock Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET in the semis.
Webster also found success in the consolation flight after posting a straight set defeat over host Louisville's Will Mayew. Webster took that match over Mayew, 7-6 (7-6), 6-4. Webster was set to play UofL's Kerim Hyatt tomorrow, but Hyatt withdrew due to an injury.
Herran and Webster weren't the only singles winners this weekend, Danilo Kovacevic earned consolation defeats over Indiana University's Jagger Saylor, 6-4, 7-5 and Northern Kentucky's Josef Zapletal, 5-7, 6-2, 10-8.
