Seven Women’s Tennis Players Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team placed seven of its members on the 2021 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team as released by the league office today.
Seniors Victoria Sec and Rebecca Herrington earned the recognition for the second time in their careers, after both were honored after the 2018-19 season. Junior Livia Lukacs along with sophomores Jessica Braun, Emily Desai, Amy Kaplan and Emma Peeler are first-time recipients.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and participate in at least 50 percent of his team's events. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, there was no Academic All-MAC award for the 2019-20 season.Both Sec and Herrington have earned their degrees at Ball State in nursing and communications studies with a 3.493 grade point average and a 3.445 GPA, respectively.
Lukacs (finance, 3.920) just finished her junior year at Ball State while teammates Braun (logistics supply chain management, 4.0), Desai (premedical preparation, 3.853), Kaplan (criminal justice, 4.00) and Peeler (interior design, 3.881) wrapped up their sophomore seasons.
