Men's S&D Places 9 On Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving program placed nine student-athletes on the 2020-21 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team as announced by the league office.

Of Ball State's nine honorees, senior Davis Meyn finished his career as a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree.

The two Cardinals are picking up the award for the second time in their careers are Duncan McLarty and Ryan Short.

Ball State also had six first-time honorees including Noah Berryman, Bryce Handshoe, Zachary Moody, Landyn Riester, Patrick White and Jack Wolfred.

A total of 45 student-athletes earned the Academic All-MAC distinction in men's swimming & diving by maintaining at least a 3.2 GPA and participating in at least half of the team's contests for the season. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.

The Cardinals capped a strong 2020-21 season with the program's best score at the MAC Swimming & Diving Championships since the 2005 season, placing fourth as a team with 571 total points.

Ball State had its first individual MAC diving champion since the 1998 season and first individual MAC swimming champion since 2006. The Cardinals swept the MAC diving awards and had a pair of swimmers earn All-MAC honors. In addition, Ball State set five program records over the course of the campaign.
