Cardinals Have Win Streak Snapped

Nick Powell led BSU with three hits and Trenton Quartermaine drove in three runs. Eastern Michigan totaled 15 hits, including a 4-for-4, 4-RBI effort from Gabe Denton
ONE STEP AHEAD OF THE CARDS: Ball State led the game early, but Eastern took the lead for good with a 3-run bottom of the 2nd. The home team kept just ahead of the Cardinals, leading 6-3 when the Cards scored twice in the 7th on a 2-run single by Quartermaine to make it 6-5. Ball State got a run in the top of the 8th to make it a 7-6 game before EMU took over the game in the bottom of the 8th to pull away.
STRIKEOUT COUNTDOWN: John Baker fanned five batters over 3+ innings, bringing his career strikeout total to 353. He needs four strikeouts to tie the school record, held by Bryan Bullington (2000-02).
