DALLAS -- Tyler Green closed with a round of 2-under-par 69, but Ball State was stuck in neutral as a team Tuesday on the final day of the Trinity Forest Invitational.
The Cardinals carded their best round of the week with a team score of 295 but could not make any progress up the leaderboard. Tuesday's scoring average for the field was the lowest of the three rounds this week at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
Green made six birdies on the day, including three of his final seven holes to get into red figures. Joey Ranieri and Jack Cunningham added 75s for Ball State on Tuesday, and Sterling McIlravy had the other counting score with a 76.
Ranieri (T35), Cunningham (T42) and Green (T46) all finished within two shots of each other for the tournament.
Host and 13th-ranked SMU won going away, finishing 17 under and stretching its final victory margin to 27 shots over second-place UTSA. Little Rock's Anton Albers stormed to medalist honors with a closing 64 to win by one shot over previous leader Noah Goodwin of SMU.
