Cardinals Voted to Finish Eighth in MAC Preseason Poll

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its annual men's basketball preseason coaches poll on Wednesday. Ball State was voted to finish eighth by the MAC coaches.
The Cardinals look to improve on a 10-13 season from the 2020-21 campaign. Ball State brings back nine from last year's squad along with six fresh faces. Miryne Thomas and Luke Bumbalough are the top returners as they averaged 7.3 points per game each. The combination of returners and newcomers has a lot of potential, but the unfamiliarity of the squad led to the Cardinals being voted to finish eighth by the MAC Coaches.
The Cardinals return to the hardwood on Wednesday for an exhibition against Michigan Tech at 7 p.m. and will give the BSU fans a first look at the 2021-22 squad before the season opener at Georgia Southern on Tuesday Nov. 9.

10. Central Michigan – 34 points
11. Eastern Michigan – 29 points
