Women’s Tennis Receives ITA Academic Team Award for 20th Time In Program History

MUNCIE, Ind. - For the 20th time in 24 seasons, the Ball State women's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team, after earning a 3.7 grade point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale.
In addition, seven members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades -- senior Rebecca Herrington (3.8), sophomore Livia Lukacs (3.9) and junior Victoria Sec along with freshmen Jessica Braun (4.0), Emily Desai (4.0), Amy Kaplan (3.7) and Emma Peeler (3.8). Herrington, Lukacs and Sec also received the prestigious honor last year.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2019 and spring 2020).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
