
Women’s Tennis Wraps up Fall Season at Viking Invite

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team wrapped up its 2025 fall season this weekend at the Viking Invite which was hosted by Cleveland State University.
On Friday, the Cardinals took four singles matches from Youngstown State which saw Alana Bristow, Asia Ting Fontana, Gabriella Barrera and Jemima Williams-Phillips each earn victories against their respective opponents. Ball State also went 2-1 against host Cleveland State in doubles while Bristow and Barrera posted a 2-0 ledger claiming doubles wins over Cleveland State and Duquesne.
The Cardinals continued their success on Saturday with Priyanka Rana taking a two-set tiebreaker versus CSU's Jenna Redmile, 1-6, 6-4, 10-6. Barrera, Bristow and Williams-Phillips were victorious in straight frames. Ball State also faced Duquesne in doubles play posting a 2-0 record as Rana paired up with Fontana for a 7-5 defeat over Jasa Rosa and Taisia Yakunina. Bristow alongside Barrera beat Sofia Lopez and Denisse Arinez, 6-3.
Ball State wrapped up play Sunday playing only four singles matches which resulted in a win for Rana and Barrera against Duquesne.
The dynamic duo of Isabel Tanjuatco and Sarah Shahbaz will compete at the ITA Conference Masters in San Diego from November 6-9.
Ball State women's tennis will open its 2026 spring slate on Jan. 24 at Big Ten foe Purdue. First serve is at 2 pm ET.
