Marion product signed with Cardinals in spring as transfer from Tulsa
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Tulsa transfer and former Marion High School standout Reggie Jones has been granted immediate eligibility for the Ball State men's basketball team.
Jones has one season of eligibility remaining. He signed with the Cardinals in April after helping Tulsa to a share of the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in the 2019-20 campaign.
The 6-foot-7 Jones was an all-state player in Indiana and state champion at Marion where he was rated among the state's top 10 recruits in the 2016 class by ESPN. He began his collegiate career at Western Michigan, averaging 9.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals over two seasons and earning 2017 MAC All-Freshman Team honors.
Jones will bolster a Ball State roster that returns six of its top eight scorers from a year ago. The Cardinals finished 18-13 last season and shared the MAC West Division championship at 11-7 in league play, winning four of their final five games before the MAC Tournament was canceled because of COVID-19.
