Setting the Stage
Ball State is set for its first stroke play event of the spring season and will challenge itself in a field that features 10 teams ranked among the top 100 in the country, headlined by No. 10 Vanderbilt.
The Cardinals will feature a bit of a youth movement this week with freshmen Joey Wiseman and Evan Bone both earning spots in the lineup. Wiseman made his first lineup appearance in the final fall tournament at Xavier's Musketeer Classic. Bone, who competed as an individual at that event in Cincinnati, will me making his lineup debut.
The other three spots belong to veterans Keegan Bronnenberg, Joey Ranieri and Jack Cunningham. All three competed at Desert Mountain last year and finished in the top half of the field for a Cardinals squad that placed ninth as a team.
Bronnenberg and Ranieri, both of whom own sub-73 scoring averages for the year, went 2-1 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play in BSU's first action of the spring.
