
Women's Basketball Closes Out Two-Game MAC Road Swing At Buffalo Saturday

The Cardinals won their first meeting over the Bulls and are looking for their four-straight win in league action

Opening Tip:
- Today/s game against Buffalo will mark the 31st time in program history the two schools have met with he Cardinals leading the all-time series, 16-14. - Buffalo is the last opponent from the MAC East Division the Cardinals will face the remainder of the regular season.
- Ball State defeated Buffalo in its first encounter this season in Worthen Arena on Jan. 22 by a score of 69-65. Junior forward Oshlynn Brown led all scorers that game with 24 points while also pulling down 11 rebounds.Â
- The Cardinals enter today's contest on a three-game winning streak after Ball State slid by Toledo with a 60-58 victory Wednesday night in Savage Arena. The Cardinals had not won on the road at Toledo since Dec. 31, 2016. Ball State also had not won a game on the road since Jan. 8 prior to Wednesday's contest.
- The last time the Cardinals defeated the Bulls in University Arena was on Jan. 25, 2017 when Ball State defeated Buffalo, 89-75.
- Brady Sallee owns a 6-6 (.500) ledger when coaching against the Bulls from 2012-13 until present.
- Â Under eighth year head coach Brady Sallee, the Cardinals own a 35-22 (.614) record in MAC play in their last eight conference games.

- The Cardinals remained undefeated in Mid-American Conference action at home last week after earning a 60-52 win over Akron Saturday in Worthen Arena. Ball State was led by sophomore forward Blake Smith who had 10 points while Arbrie Benson came off the bench to score eight points and pull down a career best 10 rebounds.
- The last time the Cardinals went undefeated in MAC play at home was the 2008-09 season. That year Ball State wrapped up league action with an 8-0 mark. Currently, Ball State's 6-0 MAC home record is the best ledger since the 2008-09 season.
- This season Ball State has taking most of its games down to the wire. The Cardinals have won all but two MAC contests by six or less points with their largest margin being 20 vs. Miami and eight vs. Akron.
1,000 Points, 1,000 Rebounds
- Junior Oshlynn Brown is currently has 957 career points and 738 rebounds. Brown needs 43 points to reach the 1,000 points and she needs 262 rebounds to hit 1,000. Brown will become only the second player in Ball State women's basketball history to reach 1,000 points and rebounds. Former Cardinal Emma Jones (1984-87) so far is the lone player in program history to get 1,000 points and rebounds.
Last Timeout Against Buffalo
-Â The Cardinals outscored the Bulls 47-27 in the second and third quarters combined to outlast the Bulls in Worthen Arena on Jan. 22. The Cardinals also scored 18 points off of the Bulls 18 turnovers that contest. Alongside Oshlynn Browns' s 24 points, freshman Sydney Freeman also scored 15 while sophomore Thelma Dis Agustsdottir and freshman Annie Rauch each chipped in 13 apiece.
Scouting Buffalo:
- The Bulls are looking to end a four-game losing streak when it returns home to University Arena to take on the Cardinals Saturday. After their loss to Ball State, the Bulls have only won one out of their last five contests. Buffalo recently fell 62-74 at Western Michigan Wednesday. Theresa Onwuka led the Bulls with 17 points while Adebola Adeyeye ended the night with a 13-point performance while also adding nine rebounds.
- The four-game losing streak marks the longest losing streak in MAC play for Buffalo since the 2015-16 season. That year the Bulls suffered five-straight losses from Jan. 13, starting with a 59-57 loss to the Cardinals at Worthen Arena and then lasted until Feb. 3 that year.
- The Bulls have two players averaging, Dyaisha Fair (21.8 ppg)
 and Theresa Onwuka (14.5 ppg). Defensively, Buffalo is led by Onwuka who is averaging 7.1 rebounds per contes.Â
- The Bulls are led by Felisha Legette-Jack who is in her eighth season at the helm of the Buffalo women's basketball program. She was named the 12th head coach in UB women's basketball history on June 14.
