SUNDAY'S MEET COVERAGE
Live Scoring    Social Media    Denver GymnasticsBall State gymnastics takes a 5-1 meet record against one of the nation's top teams this weekend when the Cardinals compete at No. 5 Denver. BSU thrilled fans in its home opener last weekend, winning a quad meet a week after winning at Pittsburgh.
Last week, domination on vault and floor set the tone for a season-best score of 194.200. Marissa Nychyk delivered a 9.900 on vault to win that event and Claudia Goyco earned the same score on floor. The Cardinals scored 49.125 on vault and 49.175 on floor to continue their strong season in those events. For her efforts, Goyco was named the MAC Specialist of the Week. Goyco has also scored 9.800 or better on the floor in each meet this season.
As a team, the Cardinals delivered 11 routines judged at 9.750 or better, including 10 scored 9.800 or better. The Cardinals are aiming to build on that performance against Denver, currently ranked fifth and was at one time ranked second in the nation. DU is 6-1-1 on the year and finished tied for second at the Metroplex Challenge last weekend, defeating Georgia and tying with Alabama. The third team in Denver this weekend is Air Force, a team Ball State has already competed against this season. The Cardinals were 4.115 points better than Air Force three weeks ago in Iowa.
Ball State's next home meet is Sunday, Feb. 16 at Worthen Arena at 1 p.m.

PRIDEMARK STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Marissa Nychyk was picked as the Pridemark Ball State Student-Athlete of the Week after her performance in last Sunday's quad meet. In addition to her 9.900 on vault, she scored 9.800 on floor and ended with a 38.300 all-around score. Outside of the gym, Nychyk was a Dean's List student in the Miller College of Business during the fall semester.Â
