Immediately Eligible: Cardinals Add Impact Transfers
November 17, 2020 | Men's Basketball
Ball State basketball received good news this week as transfers Jalen Windham and Josh Bryan received NCAA waivers to be immediately eligible for the 2020-21 season.Â
Windham, an Indianapolis native and 2019 Indiana All-Star at Ben Davis High School, played 16 games last year for Big East co-champion Creighton. He's a 6-5 long-range threat who is expected to be an immediate contributor for the Cardinals.Â
"I'm thrilled for Jalen that he has gotten the waiver to play immediately," head coach James Whitford said. "Jalen is a great fit for our program, both on the court and off. He's worked very hard since his arrival and his availability is a much needed boost to our team."Â
Bryan is walk-on from Muncie who played at Delta High School and spent last year at UIndy. Whitford says Bryan will have great impact in a year that may bring unforeseen roster challenges in college basketball.
"We are excited to have Josh as well. This year brings unprecedented challenges to your depth, and Josh gives us a terrific shooter and very tough kid that will surely be needed at times as we go through the season," Whitford said.
Windham and Bryan will suit up for a team that went 18-13 last year and won the MAC West division.Â
