Cross Country Is Back At Ball State
October 19, 2020 | Cross Country
Cross country is back. The MAC Council of Presidents approved a recommendation to conduct championships for men's and women's cross country, which will allow the Cardinals to return to competition.
The MAC Cross Country Championships are scheduled to be held Saturday, Nov. 21. A host site will soon be finalized.Â
Ball State is attempting to compete in a couple meets before the championship. Of course, all competitions are subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with state and local health guidelines.
"We're incredibly happy that the MAC Presidents Council will allow return to competition for cross country. It's important that we continue to provide competitive opportunities for student-athletes in a safe and healthy manner," head coach Brian Etelman said. "Our team has been preparing since March to compete this fall, so we are looking forward to being rewarded for our work."
Etelman aded: "We owe a big thank you to both our athletic director, Beth Goetz, and President Geoffrey Mearns for their efforts and supporting our return. We are fortunate to have leadership that believes in pursuing competitive opportunities for our student-athletes."
