Soccer Earns Weekly MAC Awards for Second Consecutive Week

MUNCIE, Ind. – For the second week in a row, the Ball State University soccer team claimed the Mid-American Conference's weekly women's soccer awards with Tristin Stuteville repeating as Defensive Player of the Week and Tatiana Hawkins-Dabney earning Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Hawkins-Dabney helped Ball State stay undefeated by scoring two game-winning goals in two matches last week. The Atlanta native scored against Illinois State in the 84th minute for the first goal of the match to lift BSU to a 1-0 victory. On Sunday, she struck again in the 67th minute to give Ball State a 2-1 win over Loyola Chicago.
Hawkins-Dabney has scored three goals on the year which places her second in the MAC. Her two game-winners are tied for most in the league. Overall for the week she produced five shots with four on goal, and two goals earned her four points. Her six points on the year is the second-best mark in the conference. She shared the honors with Western Michigan's Morgan Otteson. Ball State's Grace Alsop took home the award last week.
Stuteville remained undefeated in goal for the year by earning a clean sheet against Illinois State in a 1-0 victory, and racking up seven saves in a 2-1 win against Loyola Chicago. Stuteville is the only keeper in the MAC to record three shutouts, and leads the league in wins with four. Her solid play in goal has Ball State on a 15-game unbeaten streak which is a program record. The Kansas City native has 15 saves on the year, 10 of which came this week.
Ball State hits the road for the first time in 2019 this week when it travels to Nebraska to face Omaha on Friday. Kick is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
