Soccer to Host Purdue Fort Wayne, Honor Seniors Friday

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University soccer team will look to get back on track Friday against Purdue Fort Wayne after dropping consecutive road contests in Florida last weekend. The Cardinals will honor their five seniors prior to the match.

ABOUT PURDUE FORT WAYNE (4-2-1)
The Mastodons are off to a hot start and have won three straight heading into Friday's tilt at Ball State. Purdue Fort Wayne is unbeaten since dropping its conference opener against Youngstown State. Three different 'Dons have two goals, while Hannah Kroger and Morgan Reitano lead the offense with five points apiece. Lorah Pund is the keeper for Purdue Fort Wayne and has 23 saves.

Ball State and Purdue Fort Wayne have met 15 times in the series' history with the Cardinals owning a 13-1-1 advantage. Ball State won last year's meeting between the two schools, 2-1, in the season opener. The Mastodons' lone win over BSU occurred in 2013.

THREE-PEAT- Ball State goalkeeper Tristin Stuteville was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week the first three weeks of the season. She won every conference DPOW to that point in the year. The award came after Stuteville's fourth clean sheet of the year against Omaha.
GAME WINNERS- Tatiana Hawkins-Dabney has scored three goals this season, two of which were game winners. The Atlanta native scored the only goal of the match against Illinois State in the 84th minutes, and struck again against Loyola in the 67th minute to keep BSU perfect on the year. Her two game winners are tied for third most in in country.
BLOWOUT- The 6-0 win over Eastern Illinois was the second largest margin of victory against a Division I opponent in Ball State history. The Cardinals defeated Youngstown State by a score of 11-1 in the year 2000. Ball State also defeated Division II school Taylor, 7-0, in 2001.
HAT TRICK- Sophomore Grace Alsop recorded a hat trick in Ball State's win against Eastern Illinois. It is the first hat trick at Ball State since 2011.
