
Ongay Completes Run at USA Diving National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Ball State University diver and Mid-American Conference Freshman Diver of the Year Hunter Ongay completed his run at the 2019 USA Diving National Championships in the quarterfinal round Wednesday night.
Ongay competed on the 1m and scored a 205.25 which placed him in 36th. Only the top eight divers advanced to the finals. Miami's (Florida) Briadem Herrera won the event by scoring a 427.35.
In the qualifiers the previous week, Ongay competed in both the 1 and 3m. He tallied a 195.85 on the 3m which placed him in 37th and followed by putting up a 204.00 on the 1m for 29th. That performance on the 1m enabled him to move on to the next round.
The Ball State divers aren't done just yet as Rachel Bertram will compete in the women's 3m quarterfinal Friday morning. Live results can be followed at DiveMeets.com.
