
Incoming BSU Hooper Luke Bumbalough Named Indiana All-Star

Cardinals to again boast seven Indiana All-Stars on next year’s roster
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Incoming Ball State men's basketball player Luke Bumbalough was named Tuesday to the IndyStar Indiana All-Stars.

Bumbalough, who signed with the Cardinals in November, recently finished his senior season at New Castle High School, where he ranked second in the state in scoring at 31.2 points per game. The point guard shot nearly 50 percent from the floor and 42 percent from 3-point range, ranking third in the state with 122 treys.

Bumbalough scored 1,717 career points, second in New Castle's storied history only to Steve Alford. The two-sport athlete also held a football scholarship offer from Ball State after racking up 1,810 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior.

The Indiana All-Stars each year feature the top 13 high school seniors in the state.

This year's roster also includes Cobie Barnes (Floyd Central), Jesse Bingham (Warren Central), Ethan Brittain Watts (Culver), Armaan Franklin (Cathedral), Alex Hemenway (Castle), Trayce Jackson-Davis (Center Grove), Dawand Jones (Ben Davis), Jake LaRavia (Lawrence Central), John-Michael Mulloy (Carmel), Brandon Newman (Valparaiso), Isaiah Thompson (Zionsville) and Jalen Windham (Ben Davis).

The Indiana All-Stars will play two games against the Kentucky All-Stars: June 7 at Bellarmine University in Louisville and June 8 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Ball State's roster next season will once again feature seven Indiana All-Stars with Bumbalough, Tahjai Teague, K.J. Walton, Kyle Mallers, Brachen Hazen, Zach Gunn and Jarron Coleman. The Cardinals have signed a total of 10 Indiana All-Stars in the past six years under head coach James Whitford.

Bumbalough is part of an incoming BSU class rated No. 1 in the MAC by 247Sports. The class also features wing Lucas Kroft from Richmond, Indiana, and big man Ben Hendriks from Ontario.
