April 27, 2019 | Women's Tennis
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The No. 4 Ball State women's tennis team (16-6) closed out its 2019 spring season with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 Miami (11-10) Saturday afternoon in the 2019 Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinal match at the Miller Tennis Center.
The Cardinals started the match off strong keeping the doubles competition scores tight at the beginning of the match but the RedHawks continued to make plays at the net and would take wins on courts one and two from Ball State to clinch the doubles point.
Ball State fought hard in its first six sets keeping the competition close but Miami went on to take the tiebreakers at positions three and four after already taking first sets on courts one, two, five and six. Senior Isabelle Dohanics, fell 6-2, 6-2, to the RedHawks Melati Devi, giving Miami its second point of match. First Team All-MAC selection senior Audrey Berger was then defeated by Brindtha Ramasamy at the top singles spot to make the score, 3-0.
After that, Makenzie Myers would advance Miami to the finals of the tournament after her 6-3, 6-3 take down at the No. 6 slot over Ball State junior Victoria Sec.
