Men’s Golfers Continue Busy Month with Boilermaker Invite at Kampen

Cardinals teeing it up for the second of four straight weeks
The Ball State men's golf team continues its tour of top-notch university venues.
Last week, it was the Vanderbilt Legends Club. Next Week, Ohio State's Scarlet Course. But this week, the focus is on Purdue's Kampen Course.
Ball State is one of 15 teams in the field for the Boilermaker Invitational, set for Saturday and Sunday. And just like at Vanderbilt, all of them are ranked among the top 150 in the country by Golfstat. Actually this week, they're all in the top 140.
Fifth-ranked Oklahoma, the 2017 national champion and a 2018 quarterfinalist, headlines the field. The tournament also features flavor from the state – Purdue, Indiana and Notre Dame – and the Mid-American Conference – Kent State, Miami and Northern Illinois (full field below).
Joey Ranieri and Timothy Wiseman have played the best golf for Ball State of late.
Ranieri is coming off the best week of his freshman season, having shot even-par or better in four out of five rounds – including three 69's – while finishing fourth at the Butler Spring Invitational and 21st at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
Wiseman, who opened with 67 at the Rudolph, went on to place 27th in the strong field for his fifth consecutive top-30 finish dating back to the fall.
Keegan Bronnenberg continues to maintain the team's top scoring average for the full season at 72.45, though a total of six BSU players are averaging 74.5 or better. Two of those players, Yianni Kostouros and CJ Jones, round out the lineup this week.
The Boilermaker Invitational begins Saturday with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start and 36 holes of action. It concludes Sunday with the final round. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
