The Cardinals are now set to host head coach Stephanie Bernthal's alma mater Kent State. Bernthal was a four-year starter for the Golden Flashes. As a senior, she helped Kent State to a top-20 national ranking, MAC regular season and tournament championships and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.Â
Kent State has played only one league game so far this season. The Golden Flashes took down Ohio last Saturday by a score of 5-1. Kent State is in its first year under head coach Kyle DeSandes-Moyer, who was hired in January. The Flashes have won 13 straight over the Cardinals dating back to 2006 and leads the all-time series, 35-33.
After Friday, the Cardinals return to the road for their next five contests before closing out the regular season at home on Nov. 1 against Appalachian State.Â
