Setting the Stage
Ball State visits its third straight PGA Tour-level venue at Crooked Stick, formerly a PGA Championship host and more recently in the rotation for the BMW Championship in the FedEx Cup Playoff series.
The Cardinals will again challenge themselves against a strong national field. This one features 12 teams ranked among the top 100 in the country. BSU is among that group and is hoping familiarity worked in its favor, having played preseason qualifying rounds at Crooked Stick most years.
Joey Ranieri has led Ball State outright or tied for the team lead in all three tournaments this fall, finishing under per in each of them. The sophomore's 70.67 scoring average includes three rounds in the 60's. Junior Keegan Bronnenberg is also off to a strong start with a 71.78 average.
Ranieri tied for 12th place last week in another strong field at Erin Hills to lead BSU at the Marquette Intercollegiate. This week, he and the Cardinals will make the program's fifth appearance at the Crooked Stick Invitational, an event that began in 2000.

A green line for @TylerGreen11. A love/hate relationship with his 3-wood. Flying driver heads.
