GAME NOTES:
- Wednesday's game against Kent State will mark the 59th time in program history the two schools have met with the Golden Flashes leading the all-time series, 38-19. Â
- The Cardinals have won six of its last eight meetings against Kent State. Â
- In 2016-17, the Cardinals defeated the Golden Flashes by a score of 71-47 in Worthen Arena. The win marked the 20th year the Cardinals had not lost at home to Kent State.
- Both Ball State head coach Brady Sallee and assistant coach Ryan Patterson both had coaching stints at Kent State. Sallee was an assistant women's basketball coach from 1996-2002. Patterson was a member of the Golden Flashes men's staff from 2000-2002. He returned to Kent State as a women's basketball assistant in 2011-12.
- The last time Ball State fell to the Golden Flashes was three years ago after suffering a 59-50 setback on Feb. 13 in the M.A.C Center.Â
ABOUT KENT STATE
- The Golden Flashes enter tonight's contest after suffering back-to-back losses last week in MAC play against Ohio (83-81) and Central Michigan (82-75). Prior to those contests Kent State had opened league action with a 3-0 record, posting all three wins against the MAC West Division, Eastern Michigan (71-64), Northern Illinois (87-78) and Toledo (58-47).Â
- Kent State has two players averaging double figures, Megan Carter (15.8 ppg) and Asiah Dingle (13.7 ppg). Defensively, Meri Barber-Smith leads the Golden Flashes with 6.9 rebounds per contest.
- The Golden Flashes are coached by Todd Starkey who is in his third season as the head women's basketball coach for Kent State. In 2017, Starkey was named the MAC Coach of the Year after guiding Kent State to one of the biggest turnarounds in NCAA Division I women's basketball during his first season on the sidelines. Prior to Kent State, Starkey spent two seasons as the assistant coach and Indiana University.

- The Ball State women's basketball team returns to Worthen Arena for two more games when it hosts Western Michigan (Jan. 26)Â at 1 p.m. and Buffalo (Jan. 30) at 7 p.m.
- Saturday's game against Western Michigan will mark the 81st time in program history the two schools have met with Ball State leading the series record, 44-36. In 2017-18, the Cardinals swept the Broncos winning 81-71 (Feb. 10) in Kalamazoo and then 85-58 (Feb. 21) in Muncie. Ball State owns a 24-6 ledger over Western Michigan dating back to the 2004-05 season. Brady Sallee owns an 11-1 career record against the Broncos.
