Cardinals Surrender Late Goal in Loss at Kent State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University soccer team struggled to produce scoring opportunities on the offensive end, and eventually conceded a late goal as it fell, 1-0, to Kent State at Dix Stadium on Friday night.
The Cardinals fell to 5-3-1 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play with the setback. Kent State improved to 5-5-1 for the year and 1-2-0 in MAC competition.
The Golden Flashes had a sizable advantage in attacking with 14 shots to just two for Ball State. The Cardinals did not put any shots on goal through the entire match. BSU earned four corners on the night while KSU won six. Tristin Stuteville made four saves.
Ball State's defense withstood the Kent State attack for the majority of the night, but Cameron Shedenhelm finally broke through in the 84th minute after finding a deflection and knocking it in.
Paula Guerrero and Julia Elvbo got shots of for the BSU offense.
Ball State will look to bounce back on Sunday (Sept. 30) as it travels to take on Ohio. The match will kick at 1:00 p.m. EST.
