Moncrief’s Late Goal Leads Cardinals to a 1-1 Draw on Sunday at Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – LG Moncrief scored her first goal of the season in Ball State soccer team's 1-1 draw at Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals (3-4-2, 0-1-1 MAC) only generated four shots, but Moncrief booted in the goal off an assist by Kaelyn Valleau in the 89^th minute for the draw. Annika Klauss was also credited with a shot on goal in the contest.

The host Broncos (3-2-4, 1-0-1 MAC) scored in the 31st minute for their lone goal. Camryn Huhn found the back of the net off an assist by Meredith Vance.

Goalkeeper Kate Pallante made four saves for Ball State, including a crucial one in the final minute to preserve the tie. Along with Pallante, five other Cardinals registered the full 90 minutes in the contest.

Western Michigan outshot the Cardinals 17-4 and led in corners (9-1), while also being whistled for more fouls (7-6).

The Cardinals will travel to Oxford, Ohio on Sunday to take on Miami at 1 p.m.
