Women’s Tennis Concludes Play In Hidden Dual Action

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team closed out its hidden dual play Saturday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. The Cardinals hosted Dayton, Detroit Mercy and Murray State.
The Cardinals started the day off with back-to-back doubles action, winning four of the five for the day. Ball State's Peyton Gollhofer and Isabelle Dohanics took down Detroit Mercy's Jasmine Apawti and Chelse Apawti by a score of 6-3. Lilya Hadab paired up with teammate Rebecca Herrington and earned a 6-2 victory over the Titans Iris Thioux and Ksenia Providokhina.
Against Murray State, Audrey Berger paired up with Victoria Sec and teammates Rebecca Herrington alongside doubles partner Hadab both were winners over the Racers.
Ball State closed the day on a high note as they dominated singles play over Dayton. The Cardinals took six of the six matches from the Flyers. Sarah Swiderski, Sec, Berger, Gollhofer and Hadab all registered straight set victories against their respective opponents. Dohanics would defeat Mary Brascia in a three set thriller, 5-7, 6-3, 10-3.
The Ball State women's tennis team returns to fall action at the Purdue Invitational (Sept. 28-30) in West Lafayette, Ind.
