Women’s Tennis Dominates In Spring Opener

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's tennis team opened spring action with a dominating 7-0 victory over Dayton Monday afternoon in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Cardinals started the day off strong after taking the doubles point in a matter of 30 minutes over the Flyers. On court two, Victoria Sec alongside partner Sarah Swiderski only gave up a game to Anna Delaney and Kelly Pleiman, winning their match by a score of 6-1. The No. 1 twosome of Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington clinched the doubles point for Ball State with their 6-2 defeat over Dayton's Mattea Kilstofte and Natalie Allen.
Peyton Gollhofer and Herrington pushed the Cardinals even further ahead of the Flyers, 3-0, after posting straight set singles victories at the No. 4 and No. 3 courts, respectively. On court two, Berger took down Dayton's Zoe Woods, 6-0, 6-3 to claim the fourth point and the win for the Cardinals. Sarah Swiderski along with teammates Isabelle Dohanics and Lilya Hadab were also victorious today in straight sets.
