Sports Link Students Win SVG's Top Outstanding Feature Award
June 01, 2018 | General
ATLANTA, Ga. -- Thursday night at the Sports Video Group's College Sports Media Awards program, students from the Ball State Sports Link program won the award for the nation's top outstanding feature for the story on football's Reggie McGee. Tyler Bradfield, Connor Nicols and Zach Roy produced the video.
This was the seventh time in the past eight years Sports Link came out on top in the outstanding feature category. Andy Katz, formerly with ESPN, presented the award to the Ball State students.
Bradfield was quick to pay tribute to the instructors of Ball State Sports Link, including Senior Director, Digital Sports Production Chris Taylor, last year's SVG College Pioneer Award recipient.Â
"At Ball State we're very fortunate to have resources and people in place that are invested into features, invested into storytelling, and that starts first and foremost with our instructors," said Bradfield. "Although by title they are professors and directors, I think we would align the term friend, brother  and mentor. They're the ones that put together opportunities for us, who foster chances to learn. They're the ones that, when we have an idea, they say 'let's do it.'"Â
