Men’s Basketball Recruiting Class Rated MAC’s Best

Cardinals signed three players in November for class of 2019
MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State men's basketball signing class for this year is rated as the best in the Mid-American Conference by 247Sports.
The Cardinals' two signings from the state of Indiana, New Castle point guard Luke Bumbalough and Richmond wing Lucas Kroft, are both rated as 3-star recruits.
The 247Sports rankings don't even account for Canadian big man Ben Hendriks, who committed just before the November signing period and also reportedly drew interest from Arizona State, SMU and St. Bonaventure.
It's the third straight year Ball State has been rated among the top two recruiting classes in the MAC. And even without factoring in Hendriks, 247Sports rates the Cardinals' class 84th nationally among the 353 Division I teams.
Bumbalough is averaging 28.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists through five games of his senior season at New Castle. He recently joined the Trojans' 1,000-point club. Kroft is averaging 25.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists through Richmond's first four games.
Hendriks plays for the No. 1 team in Canada, Ontario's Orangeville Prep, which travels to prep tournaments all over North America. Hendriks helped his team to a 6-0 start this year and a championship at the Father Henry Carr Early Bird Tournament.
The trio will join a Ball State program that loses point guard Tayler Persons, center Trey Moses and shooting guard Austin Nehls after this season.
