She is looking to become the first Ball State player to finish the year with a 1.24-or-better blocks-per-set average, which would rank in the top 20 on Ball State's single season charts, since Christine Kennedy (2006-07)averaged 1.31 blocks per set in 2006 ... Starling's 111 total blocks this season rank 60th nationally and are five more than her total of 106 from her first three seasons combined.

• Meg Starling recorded her 200th career block at Miami (Oct. 19) ... She enters the week with 217 career blocks, including 51 solo blocks and 166 block assists ... Her career blocking total is 32 shy of breaking into the top 20 in program history, while she needs one more solo block to reach the top 20 on BSU's career charts.

• Meg Starling is not the only Ball State player to reach 200 career blocks this season, as junior middle Sydnee VanBeek recorded hers versus NIU (Oct. 26) and senior middle Emily Holland tallied hers against WMU (Oct. 27) ... The last time Ball State had three players with 200 career blocks as a member of the program on the same team was in 2005 when Rachel Refenes (2004-05), Kristin Westhof (2002-05)and Sarah Obras (2002-05)were all seniors.

• Sydnee VanBeek and Meg Starling both enter Thursday's match ranked in the top 10 in the MAC in attack percentage ... VanBeek leads the Cardinals and is fourth in the MAC at .320, while Starling is second on the team and eighth in the league at .313 ... The last time Ball State had a pair of players hit above .300 in the same season was 2013 when Mindy Marx (2010-13)led the league at .359 and Hayley Benson (2012-14)was third at .353.

• Ball State continues to lead the MAC with a .240 attack percentage this season ... The Cardinals have hit .250-or-better in 12 matches, owning a 11-1 record in those contests ... More impressively, Ball State has hit above .300 seven times this season, which is the most since the 2013 squad accomplished the feat eight times.

• Ball State's 11 aces in the win over Ohio (Oct. 12) were the most the Cardinals have served up in 230 matches, dating back to Sept. 9, 2011 when the BSU aced Western Carolina 12 times.

• Led by nine aces from Amber Seaman, the Cardinals blasted 19 service aces in wins over Ohio (Oct. 12) and Kent State (Oct. 13) ... It's the most aces Ball State has registered in back-to-back matches since the 2007 season when the Cardinals tallied 22 starting with six in a five-set win at Toledo (Sept. 27) and followed with 16 in a home win over Buffalo (Sept. 29).

• Ball State's offense connected for a .469 (44-6-81) attack percentage in the win over Grambling State (Aug. 31) which stands as the third-best single match performance in program history ... The only two matches that were better, a .512 mark versus Southeast Missouri (Sept. 9, 2000) and a .506 effort at Indiana State (Oct. 11, 1988).

• In addition to a solid attacking performance versus Grambling State (Sept. 1), the Ball State defense limited the Tigers attack to a season-low -.061 (18-23-82) rate of success ... It's Ball State's best all-around effort on defense since holding Tennessee State to a -.084 (14-21-83) rate of success on Sept. 3, 2010.
