Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Play At Purdue Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team wrapped up its second fall tournament at Purdue Sunday afternoon.
Rebecca Herrington was crowned the champion of the Hammer Down Singles Draw after she took down Maddox Bandy of Lipscomb in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. Isabelle Dohanics placed third in the same flight after registering a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Western Kentucky's Lisa Friess.
Audrey Berger and Victoria Sec both earned third place in their respective singles draw by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Lilya Hadab had advanced to the Boiler Up singles finals but dropped her match to Xavier's Kaitlin Ruether, 7-6, 6-3.
The Ball State women's tennis team will continue fall action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regionals in Chattanooga, Tennessee from Oct. 11 to Oct. 15.
