The match began with doubles play, as the Cardinals dropped all three matches to the Wildcats. Sarah Swiderski paired up with teammate Isabelle Dohanics at the No. 3 spot for Ball State's first loss, falling to Northwestern's Julie Byrne and Rheeya Doshi by a score of 6-1. On court two, Peyton Gollhofer and Julia Sbircea took two games from the No. 8 duo of Lee Or and Alex Chatt but lost 6-2. With the doubles point already clinched, Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington only fell three games short of a victory after losing 6-4 to No. 4 Erin Larner and Maddie Lipp.
In singles action, Northwestern pushed ahead of the Cardinals 2-0 after Audrey Berger fell in straight sets to No. 92 Lipp, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 3 position.
