Opening Pitch: Ball State is riding a season-best eight-game winning streak heading into the league series at Buffalo. The Cardinals have piled up 105 runs, 13 home runs, 31 doubles and a .385 batting average during the streak. The Cardinals scored at least 10 runs in six of the eight games.

Kennedy is on Fire: Senior INF Sean Kennedy was named this week's MAC West Player of the Week. He hit .714 (10-of-14) in last weekend's series against Bowling Green. In game two of the series, he went 5-for-5 with three home runs, a triple, a double and nine RBIs. Kennedy set a program record with 17 total bases.
On Tuesday, Kennedy propelled Ball State to a 5-3 win over Purdue with a lead-off home run in the top of the 12th inning.
Quality Bullpen Performance: The Ball State bullpen held Purdue without an earned run in nine innings pitched on Tuesday. At one point, the Cardinals retired 15 consecutive Purdue batters. Sophomore RHP Nick Floyd earned his first collegiate win by holding Purdue off the scoreboard in the 11th and 12th innings.
10 Hits a Good Sign: The Cardinals have tallied at least 10 hits in 13 games this season and have won them all. Ball State has notched at least 12 hits in eight straight games.
