MUNCIE, Ind. - - After winning six of nine events to open the 2017 outdoor season last weekend, the Ball State track & field program will battle much stiffer competition this weekend when it travels to NC State for the Adidas Raleigh Relays.

After focusing mainly on the distance events at last weekend's Stan Lyons Invitational due to the cold weather conditions, all of Ball State's top sprinters will be in action this weekend starting with sophomore Peyton Stewart (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) and freshman Bryeana Byrdsong (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) in the 100m dash.
All three of Ball State's medalists from the 2017 MAC Indoor Championships will also compete in the two-day meet, starting with sophomore Regan Lewis (Greenfield, Ind./Greenfield-Central) in the high jump at 11 a.m. Friday.
Later in the day, at 12:20 p.m., 2017 MAC Indoor 60m hurdles champion Jazmin Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/North College Hill) will see her first outdoor action of the season in the 100m hurdles. She will be joined in the race by freshman bronze medalist Jasmine Harris (Moreland Hills, Ohio/Orange) who will be making her collegiate debut in the 100m hurdles.
Senior Danielle Dahl (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) will also take her first shot at the 800m this year, after sprinting away with the 400m dash title at last weekend's Stan Lyons Invitational.
In addition to the events above, Ball State will have student-athletes competing in the 200m, 400m, 1500m, 400m hurdles, shot put, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, 4x800m relay and 4x1500m relay at the two-day Raleigh Relays.
