Women’s Swimming and Diving Victorious Over Grand Valley State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving team came up with another victory Saturday afternoon against Grand Valley State. The Cardinals won with a final score of 164-136.
The day was highlighted by Ball State's 10 first place finishes. To start off the day, Ball State was able to take the first place spot in the 400 medley relay. Audrey Schank, Amanda Kedzierski, Andrea Richter and Anne Vormohr came together to post a final time of 3:55.31 to take that top spot. Mikayla Dostall, Cailin Merck, Sophie Bader and Peighton Gilbert also earned the Cardinals the second place spot (4:02.39).
Schank earned first place in the 100 backstroke after posting a time of 58.23. Vormohr was right behind her with a time of 58.95. Kedzierski had two individual first place finishes. She posted a time of 1:06.33 in the 100 breaststroke and a time of 53.91 in the 100 freestyle to earn those top spots. Bader was another Cardinal to earn herself two individual first place spots. Bader earned the top spot in the 200 butterfly (2:08.94) and in the 200 IM (2:13.79). In the 50 freestyle, Gilbert was able to claim that top spot (24.76). Liz Madison touched the wall at 2:37.07 to earned first place in the 200 breaststroke. Richter was able to mark an individual event first place finish in the 100 butterfly. Richter won that event with a final time of 58.01.
On the diving board for the Cardinals, Rachel Bertram claimed the top spot in two the 1-meter and 3-meter. In the 3-meter board, Bertram recorded a score of 276.38. To win the 3-meter dive, Bertram marked a score of 255.75.
The Ball State women's swimming team will return to action Nov. 30 through Dec. 2 for the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio. The divers will compete again Dec. 1-2 at Eastern Michigan.
