Women’s Swimming Wraps Up Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio – The Ball State women's swimming team wrapped up action at the Miami Invite Saturday evening. The Cardinals finished the weekend in sixth place with 324 points.
Kayla Molnar earned six points for the Cardinals in the 1650 (17:48.97), the first event of the last day. Cassidy Blackwin was right behind her in that event with a time of 17:55.20.
Liz Madison earned two points for Ball State with her time of 2:26.11 in the 200 breaststroke. Sophie Bader also put points on the board for the Cardinals with a 10th place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:06.20). Traci Muszalski finished 16th in the 200 fly with a time of 2:11.52 to earn three points for Ball State with Maryn Meldrum right behind her in 17th place (2:11.68).
In the 400 freestyle relay, Ball State was able to take the seventh-place spot. Amanda Kedzierski, Peighton Gilbert, Bader and Anne Vormohr came together to earn 28 points with a final time of 3:31.02. Morgan Brebberman, Audrey Mayer, Molnar and Madison were also able to earn points in the 400 freestyle relay. Those four came together to post a time of 3:37.70 to add 10 points. In 16th place of this same event was Meldrum, Audrey Schank, Andrea Richter and Lauren Elston with a time of 3:38.34.
This wraps up competition for the Cardinals 2017 part of the season. The Ball State women's swimming and diving team will return to action on Jan. 5 in Indianapolis, Ind. against IUPUI, Xavier and UIndy.
