About the Cardinals
After playing three tournaments in the first three weeks of the season, Ball State has been off since wrapping up SMU's Trinity Forest Invitational on Sept. 26.
Timothy Wiseman led the Cardinals in Dallas with a tie for 29th place among a field featuring eight teams that finished last season among the top 25 in the Golfstat rankings.
Ball State, which also competed against a notably strong field at Wolf Run to open the season, will see another one again this week.
Two-time All-MAC selection Johnny Watts paces the Cardinals with a 72.56 scoring average and owns the team's best finish of the year with a third-place result at the EKU Intercollegiate. He leads a BSU lineup that has featured the same five golfers in each event so far.
Last Time at Crooked Stick
Ball State most recently played at the Crooked Stick Invitational in 2015. The Cardinals placed eighth of 12 teams, led by top-20 finishes from then-sophomores Watts and VanDeventer.
Coming Up
Ball State will head to Powell's Point, N.C. next week for the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. The event begins Oct. 22 at Kilmaric Golf Club.
