Field Hockey Unable to Cage the Bobcats

ATHENS, Ohio.– The Ball State field hockey team traveled to Athens, Ohio, Friday evening to continue Mid-American Conference action. The Cardinals fell to the Bobcats, 3-0, and moved to 0-2 in conference play.
Ohio came out firing and scored in the second minute of the contest. The Bobcats were able to knock in one more goal before the half. In the 38th minute of play, Ohio stretched the lead to 3-0 with a goal by Maria Russell.
Carley Shannon, Rachel Pereira, and Michelle Shampton each tallied one shot on goal. In the goal, Grace Chavez recorded two saves on the day. The Cardinals totaled three shots and two penalty corners in the contest.
The Ball State field hockey team will continue their road trip with a stop at Longwood on Sunday, Oct. 15. Game time is set for noon.
