Men’s Golf Opens Play at Inverness

TOLEDO, Ohio -- The Ball State men's golf team is 11th after Monday's opening two rounds at the Inverness Intercollegiate.
The Cardinals posted a team total of 596 (+28) at the Inverness Club. Johnny Watts is the top Cardinal individually in a tie for 30th at 147 (+5). He had the team's best round of the day with a 69 in the afternoon.
Michael Makris (T34) is one shot behind Watts, while Timothy Wiseman (T43), Keegan McKinney (T51) and Michael VanDeventer (T57) round out the Ball State lineup.
Duke (-10) sits in first place on the team leaderboard, while Auburn (-7) is the only other team under par. Auburn's Matt Gilchrest (-6) holds a one-shot lead on Duke's Matt Oshrine in the race for medalist honors.
