
Field Hockey Starts the Season 2-0 After a Thrilling Win at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Ball State field hockey team posted its second straight win of the season in a 2-1 double overtime victory at Davidson Sunday afternoon.
In the final minute of the second overtime, senior midfielder Mikayla Mooney scored the game-winning goal on a cross field pass from junior Merinda Morley. The goal came off of a set penalty corner play. Mooney scored in both games this weekend.
The Cardinals struck first in the third minute of the game with a goal by sophomore forward Darbi Gullett. The two teams went into halftime tied 1-1 after the Wildcats hit back in the 35th minute. Both teams were scoreless in the second half and the first overtime.
Senior goalkeeper Jordan Dues gets the win with eight saves.
The Cards will be in action again on Friday, Sept. 2, against Brown University in Louisville, Kentucky.
