September 02, 2016 | Field Hockey
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Ball State Field Hockey team remains undefeated after a 2-1 overtime victory over Brown Friday afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder Anya Eicher scored her first goal of the season in dramatic fashion. With three minutes left to go in overtime, Eicher connected with the back of the cage from the top of the circle to give the Cardinals the win.
Darbi Gullett scored her second goal of the season in the first half on a pass from Michelle Shampton. The teams went into halftime tied 1-1 after Brown scored on a penalty corner in the last minute of the first half.
Jordan Dues earned her third win in goal with three saves.
The Bears and Cards were pretty evenly matched throughout the game in shots, saves and penalty corners, but Ball State was able to edge out the win.
The Cardinals are now 3-0 and look to remain unbeaten Saturday, Sept. 3 when they take on the Richmond Spiders at 1:15 p.m.
