June 23, 2016 | Men's Swimming and Diving
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men's swimming and diving team has 12 meets on its schedule for the upcoming winter season, highlighted by back-to-back home meets against Evansville (Jan. 28) and Notre Dame (Feb. 4) toward the end of the regular season.
The first chance to catch the Cardinals in action is the annual Red/White Intrasquad scrimmage in the Lewellen Aquatic Center on Oct. 15. A week later on Oct. 22, Ball State kicks off the regular season at the Indiana Intercollegiate, hosted by Purdue.
The Cardinals, under the guidance of longtime head coach Bob Thomas, host their first home dual meet on Oct. 28 against Albion College. Ball State's first Mid-American Conference meet is scheduled for Jan. 14 at defending league champion Eastern Michigan.
Following seven consecutive competitions on the road, Ball State welcomes Evansville and Notre Dame to campus. The Notre Dame meet will also serve as the Senior Meet.
The MAC Championships are slated for March 1-4. Affiliate member Southern Illinois will serve as the host in Carbondale, Illinois. Captains Tanner Barton and Jacob Eckert will lead the Cardinals in 2016-17. Barton was the team's top point scorer in the butterfly events last year while Eckert led the squad in the individual medley.
