Cross Country Releases 2016 Schedule

MUNICE, Ind. - - Ball State cross country second-year head coach Brian Etelman announced the team's schedule for the 2016 season, which is highlighted by the Ball State Cardinal Duals at the Muncie Elks Country Club Golf Course on Sept. 23.
Four of the Cardinals' five regular season meets will be run in the state of Indiana, starting with the Butler Open (Sept. 2). Two weeks later, Ball State will take the starting line for the Indiana Intercollegiate (Sept. 16) hosted by Indiana.
Following the team's home meet, Ball State will visit Notre Dame for the Joe Piane Inviational (Sept. 30). The Cardinals close the regular season with its first jaunt outside the state of Indiana, traveling to Bradley University for the Bradley Pink Classic (Oct. 14).
The 2016 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Kent State on Oct. 29, with the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals following Nov. 11 at Wisconsin. The 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championships return to Indiana State's LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course this season and will be held Nov. 19.
The Ball State cross country program returns seven student-athletes from last season's squad, led by senior Ericka Rinehart who was named a MAC Women's Cross Country Distinguished Scholar Athlete after pacing the squad at the 2015 NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
